First I want to thank you for stopping and checking out Mandie's Boutique. Many people ask me how
I got started. So this is my chance to tell you and in hopes of building confidence for women all over the world. -- At the
end of the year in 2009 a good friend and I went lingerie shopping. We had both just lost a few pounds and wanted to buy
a sexy gift for ourself's. We went into a lingerie boutique that's known for their plus sizes. upon walking in the store we were in heaven and
had our arms full of items we couldn't wait to try on and purchase. Waiting for a fitting room a lady walked to us and said we have to get you
larger sizes, those won't fit. She began to go around the store and grab much larger items, and brought them to us. My friend shrugged it off and walked into a fitting room, the
lady then said to me please don't try this one on you will rip it.
After about two more comments I noticed the lady was criticizing us for our size. Being a size 12, I never saw myself as to Big until that moment! My friend left the
fitting room crying and said she just wanted to leave. We left the clothes and walked out! ---- Before getting into the car I knew if I didn't defend myself she would make someone else feel
the same way. I walked in and asked her why she said the things she did. Her response mortified me! "Commenting on your size it will motivate you to do something about it".
After asking for the owner, she informed me she was the owner! i asked her if it hurt her business calling customers overweight, she asked me to leave the store or she
would call the police. No apology, no remorse for the fact that I had tears in my eyes and a friend in the car crying. ---
I walked out with the determination to open my own business where I promise to Never make a woman feel the way that lady made me feel. ---
